Lisbon Chronicles | Romantic Sintra

If you live near Lisbon or are visiting the city, be sure to reserve a day to visit the Monte da Lua (Moon Hill , as the Sintra’s Hill is known). It is impossible not to like Sintra!

Getting to this small town is like traveling back in time and get to a place where still reigns a little magic.

You'll love  Pena’s National Palace, but Sintra is also worth (and very much) to be visited. In addition to the Palácio da Vila (the palace in the centre of Sintra), there are museums, restaurants and pastry shops (you must visit Piriquita and try the Travesseiros pastries), shops and art galleries, the streets, houses and palaces, the views of the mountain, the castle and the palace. It is a charming place that keeps surprising us all at every visit we make.

You can get to Sintra by car or by train, from Rossio Station in Lisbon (about 30 minutes). Wen planning your visit its a good idea to consult the Parques de Sintra site (here) and check all the beautiful monuments, museums, gardens and parks in and around Sintra.

  1. I have been to Sintra, I loved it! There was some Fado concert that made it even more magical at night with all the palaces lid up! Great place!

  5. Beautiful! There is so much to see in such a little place. We spent most of the day exploring Pena Palace, the gardens, and the older wall/castle complex. We didn't even have time to visit the town much at all, next time!!
